Legare Farms

The Legare family has been farming on Johns Island since 1725. As a ninth generation of Legare’s in America, the owners strive to nourish a legacy that their forefathers began.  Their education programs educate our youth about farm life in America while entertaining them and providing them with a hands on farm experience.

Legare Farms grows Centipede and St. Augustine sod. The farm hosts a plant nursery with everything from bedding plants to thirty gallon trees. They also raise beef cows and sell the antibiotic and hormone free beef directly to the public. The market carries its own line of jams, jellies, pickles and dressing.  The farm plays host to the annual Sweet Corn Festival in June and offers a Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch for the month of October.
