North Charleston City Gallery Exhibit: Robert Maniscalco

The North Charleston City Gallery is pleased to present works by North Charleston Artist-in-Residence 09/10, Robert Maniscalco. In this exhibit, titled “Faces of the Lowcountry,” Maniscalco will present works in oil and pastel inspired by the people and environment he now calls his home. The pieces range from commissioned portraits on loan from private and public collections, to depictions of common objects found in his whimsical “My Backyard” series. Since moving to the Lowcountry 5 years ago, Maniscalco has been developing a body of paintings featuring Gullah people set in the natural environment. Some of these works will be featured, as well as a few examples of his plein air work.
